1. Applying and Participating
These terms supplement the Terms of Service when you apply or participate as an advisor. You must be at least 18, authorized to use your artist identity and materials, and eligible for the required payment services. Give accurate application, social, profile, tax, and payout information. Approval is discretionary and may be reviewed if information changes or concerns arise.
Do not imply that marketplace verification is a professional license, comprehensive background check, endorsement by your label, or guarantee from BeatAdvisor. Tell support if another party controls your name, recordings, publicity rights, or ability to offer the service.
2. Your Service Obligations
Offer only services you can competently and personally fulfill by the displayed deadline. Detailed feedback requires at least three meaningful timestamped comments addressing the submitted music and relevant request. Boilerplate, irrelevant comments, or artificially splitting one comment into several do not satisfy that obligation.
For Just a listen, listen to the full track and submit an honest decision and the required short personal response. Do not attest to a listen you did not complete. Do not substitute an assistant, impersonator, or undisclosed automated response for the selected artist’s personal work.
Give constructive, respectful feedback; never condition completion on extra payment, a favorable review, contact outside the platform, or buying another product. Stop accepting work when you cannot deliver and contact support promptly about an order you cannot fulfill. Do not mark work complete merely to capture payment before it is finished.
3. Submitted Music, Privacy, and Confidentiality
Listener tracks, private instructions, and non-public contact information are provided solely for fulfilling the order. Do not publish, redistribute, sell, release, sample, train an AI system on, share with another person, or otherwise exploit that material without the rights holder’s separate permission. Do not use participant information for unrelated marketing.
Use only the copies reasonably necessary for fulfillment, protect them from unauthorized access, and delete local copies when no longer needed for the order or a lawful obligation. Do not keep using access after an order is canceled. Promptly report loss, unauthorized access, or disclosure to support. Legally required disclosure should be limited to what is required, with notice where lawful.
You receive no ownership, songwriting credit, publishing share, master right, or royalty entitlement in a listener’s music merely by giving feedback. You retain your original feedback and grant BeatAdvisor permission to deliver and retain it in the service, and the purchasing listener permission to retain and apply it to their own music, including commercial releases, without an additional feedback royalty. Third-party material is not cleared by that license.
4. Pricing, Fees, and Payouts
Set accurate prices and review the fee and earnings breakdown. The standard platform fee is 20% of the artist price unless a different rate is expressly assigned or agreed. A separate listener service fee is not part of your artist earnings. The recorded commercial terms for an existing order govern that order; later price changes are prospective.
Stripe Connect handles payout onboarding and disbursement, subject to its terms, verification, supported countries, and risk controls. Completion and capture do not mean money is immediately available in your bank. Provider timing, account restrictions, refunds, disputes, reserves, and negative balances can affect availability.
You are responsible for your own business registrations and taxes except where law requires BeatAdvisor or a provider to collect, withhold, or report them. Do not use another person’s bank account or misrepresent your location to bypass provider requirements.
5. Refunds, Disputes, and Corrections
Cooperate with reasonable investigations of missing work, unauthorized charges, or service complaints and provide truthful fulfillment evidence. To the extent permitted by law and the applicable payment-provider agreement, amounts previously paid for an order may need correction if its payment is reversed or refunded because of your non-performance, fraud, or breach.
A customer refund is not proof that an artist transfer has already been reversed. BeatAdvisor reviews these cases individually; this policy does not authorize arbitrary penalties or undisclosed automatic bank debits. We will explain a proposed adjustment and give you a way to question it, subject to provider deadlines and lawful restrictions. Valid, undisputed earnings are not forfeited simply because you close your account.
6. Independent Business and Publicity
You decide whether to offer services and set your rates within marketplace rules. You are not authorized to make commitments for BeatAdvisor. The intended relationship is independent, not employment, partnership, or an agency, subject to the actual relationship and applicable law rather than labels alone.
Your profile name, image, biography, social links, and service information may be displayed to operate and describe your marketplace listing. Broader advertising uses, an endorsement campaign, or exploitation of your music require separate permission. Do not claim that a listener’s purchase gives them your endorsement or an industry opportunity.
7. Restrictions and Ending Participation
We may suspend listings or access for reasonable safety, identity, legal, payment, or material service-quality concerns, with notice and review where appropriate. Fulfill or resolve open orders before closing the account. Support can coordinate closure and remaining payment records. Confidentiality, permitted feedback use, accrued payment obligations, and legally necessary records survive closure.
The Terms of Service contain liability, business indemnity, and dispute provisions, subject to mandatory law. Questions about artist obligations or account closure can be sent to support@beatadvisor.com.
