1. Scope and Responsibility
This policy covers the BeatAdvisor website, application, artist applications, purchases, and support. Beat Advisor LLC is the intended future operator but has not yet been formed. The actual legal operator responsible for personal information, its business address, applicable privacy contacts, and this policy’s effective date must be confirmed before this draft becomes a final notice. For now, direct privacy questions to support@beatadvisor.com.
This notice describes the product implementation accompanying this draft. Independent services such as Google sign-in, Stripe, and linked social platforms also process information under their own notices. Their role may be that of a service provider or an independent controller depending on the activity.
2. Information We Receive
- Account information: email address, account ID, display name, profile photo, account role, authentication and verification status, and preferences. Firebase handles authentication credentials and, if enabled, multi-factor authentication. Google sign-in can supply basic identity information such as name, email, and profile image.
- Artist applications: legal and artist names, date of birth, country, phone number, social handle and platform, follower-range information, application statements, and verification correspondence. An optional social-account challenge can record the confirming handle, challenge status, and administrator audit details.
- Public artist profiles: biography, primary genre, sub-genres, feedback strengths, photo, social links, available services, prices, verification status, and ratings. These fields are intended for public discovery.
- Music and service content: uploaded audio, track title, genre, duration, waveform data, request instructions, timestamped comments, listening decisions, personal responses, and aggregate play counts. Do not include unnecessary sensitive personal information or someone else’s private data.
- Transactions: order IDs, prices, fees, payment-provider references, payment and payout status, cancellation/refund/dispute records, and timestamps. Card details are entered in Stripe’s checkout. BeatAdvisor does not store full card numbers or card security codes in its application database. Stripe may separately collect identity, tax, business, and banking details for artist payouts.
- Communications and technical records: support messages, transactional email delivery records, inbox notices, security events, support-session audit records, and ordinary server/provider logs that can include IP address, browser/device information, request details, and timestamps. Browser storage is described in the Cookie Policy.
3. Why We Use Information
We use information to create and secure accounts; assess artist applications; publish chosen profile information; store and play tracks; match an order to its participants; deliver feedback; process payments and payouts; send service notices; provide support; prevent abuse; handle rights complaints; maintain accounting and dispute records; and meet legal obligations.
Where a legal basis is required, providing requested account and order services relies on contract necessity; applicable accounting, tax, and legal demands rely on legal obligations; proportionate security, fraud prevention, service reliability, application review, and legal-claim handling rely on legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights. Processing that requires consent must use a separate, valid consent process. We do not treat agreement to the Terms as consent to every use of information.
We do not use submitted music to train general-purpose AI models or use private tracks in advertising under this policy. Optional Google/Firebase Analytics is disabled in this release. This release does not include advertising pixels or a feature for selling personal information or sharing it for cross-context behavioral advertising. New purposes or optional tracking require a policy and implementation review before activation.
5. Audio Access and Security
We use account authorization, limited public-profile responses, and other technical and organizational measures to restrict access. No system is perfectly secure. Audio playback currently uses storage download links that can allow access to anyone who possesses a valid link, including outside the application. Contractual restrictions do not technically prevent an authorized recipient from copying audio.
Do not post playback URLs publicly. If a link or account may be compromised, contact support promptly. Upload only material appropriate for this workflow, keep independent backups, and do not rely on BeatAdvisor as a confidential-release vault.
6. Retention and Deletion
Retention depends on the information’s purpose, whether an account or order is active, payment and tax requirements, fraud prevention, legal-claim periods, and applicable law. There is no single deletion period for every record. We must review these needs rather than keep information indefinitely simply because storage is available.
Track or account deletion can be blocked while an order or checkout needs resolution. Removing a track with closed orders deletes its playable audio through the deletion workflow but can retain limited track metadata, waveform data, comments, and order records so the historical transaction remains understandable. Deletion cannot recall a copy someone previously downloaded.
Listener account deletion removes account access and private profile data through the account-deletion workflow, but closed orders, reviews, comments, internal identifiers, and financial records can remain with reduced attribution. Artist closure can retain historical artist name/ID and payment references linked to completed orders. Contact support for artist-account closure or a deletion request that settings cannot complete.
Provider-held financial, security, delivery, or legal records and backup copies can have separate retention requirements. Erasure is not a promise of immediate deletion from every system or every lawful record. A request will be assessed under applicable law, including whether retained information should be erased, restricted, or de-identified.
7. Your Choices and Requests
Depending on your location and the law that applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent; opt out of regulated sale, sharing, or profiling; and appeal a decision on a request. We do not make solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects as part of the described application-review workflow.
Email support@beatadvisor.com with ‘Privacy request,’ your account email, and what you are requesting. We may take proportionate steps to verify identity or an authorized agent’s authority. Do not email your password, full payment-card number, or unsolicited identity documents. We will respond within the time required by applicable law, explain any permitted extension or refusal, and will not unlawfully discriminate for exercising privacy rights.
If you disagree with a response, reply requesting review. Where applicable, you may complain to your privacy regulator, including your EEA supervisory authority or the UK Information Commissioner. You do not have to use support before exercising a legal right. Service and security emails may be necessary for an active account or transaction; optional marketing, if introduced, must have its own lawful choices.
8. International Processing
BeatAdvisor intends international account access and purchases where legally and technically available. Our providers and the artists you select may process information in the United States or other countries whose privacy laws differ from yours. The applicable international privacy obligations and data-transfer arrangements remain subject to launch review. Your use of an English-language site or a USD checkout is not consent that replaces legally required transfer safeguards.
Where applicable, required transfer mechanisms, assessments, processor agreements, and any local representative must be established and described before offering the affected service. This draft does not claim that specific contractual clauses, a certification framework, or local representation are already in place. Contact support for information about arrangements applicable to your data.
9. Adults Only
BeatAdvisor is intended only for people 18 and older. We do not invite minors to create accounts, submit music, or apply as artists. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact support so we can investigate and take appropriate action, including deletion where required. An age restriction is not a claim that every user’s age has been independently verified.
10. Updates and Contact
We will identify changes with a revised date/version and provide additional notice or seek consent where required. Materially different processing will not be justified solely by silently replacing this notice. Privacy questions, security concerns, and requests can be sent to support@beatadvisor.com.
